Philosophy
Ottimista is focused on the incredibly diverse and colorful world of modern Italian wine. We believe that in the last few decades the range of quality wines from Italy has expanded in staggering proportions, and that great wine shouldn’t have to cost a fortune. With this in mind, we work very hard to find the best values from Italy and from the states as well, and nothing excites us more than sharing these discoveries with customers. Being so close to wine country, we also love to support local wineries making small production wines that are both balanced and food friendly, while retaining a strong sense of varietal and place. We keep a close eye on the farming practices of the producers whose wines we represent because we believe that sustainable agricultural techniques are good for both the land and the wine.
We also offer a selection of beer and a full bar, again seeking out small-production breweries and distilleries, and mixing only with the freshest ingredients.
Retail
All of our wines are available for purchase and takeaway at normal retail prices, generally 33% less than the on-premise list price. Retail prices are noted next to on-premise prices on our wine list. If you love a wine that you enjoyed at the enoteca, take a bottle home – we can add it to your bill. A discount of 10% is offered on purchases of 6 or more bottles.
Wine Club
Many of our customers asked for a way to enjoy Ottimista’s unique selection of wines at home. So we created the flexible Ottimista Wine Club, where guests receive two or three bottles per quarter, and can choose all reds, all whites or the surprise mix. We host a quarterly PICK-UP Party where members taste the wines, nibble on small bites from the kitchen, mingle with other members and yes, pick up their wine selection.
